Elevate your .eluo. ritual with a purifying herbal steam.
Herbal facial steams are simple and effective, all you need is a selection of fresh or dried herbs, hot water and a bowl or towel.
Hot water releases the volatile oil in the plant material, carrying them up to the face where they exert their beneficial effects – the steam helping to open pores and soften the sebum inside, making it easier to cleanse and clear.
It’s simple modern rituals like these that help cultivate self-love and appreciation, and we're ever grateful for the medicine of plants and their ability to bring us such joy. Try this ritual before mask application, allowing our potent botanicals to penetrate deeply into skin.
Step 1
Choose an ideal herbal combo for your skin type. We love rose for dry skin, chamomile for sensitive and rosemary for congested complexions. Our friends at Woash have created the perfect Beauty Base tea blend to accompany your facial stem.
Step 2
Cleanse your face with a gentle, plant based cleanser. Boil 4 cups of water, and when ready pour over herbs and let simmer for 2-3 minutes to release the powerful plant essences.
Step 3
Place a large, thick towel over your head like a tent so that all the steam from the bowl is directed toward your face and steam for 5-10 minutes.
Step 4
Splash face with lukewarm water and pat until slightly dry. Now it's time to apply our Forma Rosea facial mask which will penetrate beautifully into open and cleansed pores.
Step 5
Gradually mix a small amount of water (approx. 1 tbsp) or chosen activator into 1 tbsp of your .eluo. mask and apply as usual. Just as the mask begins to dry remove with a clean, damp muslin cloth and follow with our Forma Oleum face oil to lock in moisture and nourishing benefits.
